25HOURS HOTEL
Central Element
Paddington
Sydney’s skyline is set for a transformation with the arrival of 25hours Hotel Paddington, the city’s first of its kind, housed within the historic West Olympia Theatre. Goldfish & Bay is thrilled to contribute building services engineering expertise to this landmark project, blending heritage conservation with contemporary luxury.
Originally known as West Olympia Pictures, this heritage-listed site has evolved from an arthouse cinema to the famed Grand Pacific Blue Room nightclub. Now, under the vision of Central Element and Boston Global Group, and the design expertise of Tonkin Zulaikha Greer (TZG), it is being reimagined as a boutique 109-room hotel, with its historic façade seamlessly integrated into the new structure.
With Richard Crookes Constructions leading the build and Woods Bagot and Indyk Architects shaping the interiors, 25hours Hotel will feature a rooftop bar with panoramic city views, offering a unique blend of old-world charm and modern sophistication.
Beyond luxury, this project underscores Sydney’s commitment to adaptive reuse and sustainable development, ensuring the site’s cultural legacy continues while minimising its carbon footprint.
Set to open in December 2024, 25hours Hotel Paddington will be a beacon of architectural transformation, preserving the past while shaping Sydney’s future.
