Creating Tomorrow’s Student Communities – The Switch Macquarie Park

At Goldfish & Bay, we’re excited to contribute our Wet and Dry Fire Design expertise to The Switch Macquarie Park, a 15-storey student accommodation that brings a fresh approach to modern living. As the first Switch development in Sydney and the fourth across Australia, this project is a collaboration between Rothelowman, Nuveen Real Estate, and Taylor, designed to cater to the lifestyle needs of today’s students.

The development offers 491 modern apartments, including studio and multi-bedroom layouts, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of a young generation of students. This purpose-built facility is more than just accommodation—it’s an environment crafted to foster both academic success and personal well-being.

Communal spaces, such as study pods, lounges, and games areas, have been integrated to support social interaction and relaxation. A gym and outdoor terraces offer opportunities for fitness and leisure, while the inclusion of media and podcast rooms caters to creative pursuits. The design also includes basement parking with end-of-trip facilities for both cars and bicycles, ensuring convenience for all residents.

With a 5-Star Green Star rating, sustainability is at the core of the project, aligning with the highest environmental standards. Positioned close to Macquarie University, which hosts thousands of students from around the world, The Switch Macquarie Park is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality student accommodation, particularly for international students returning to Australia.
