Goldfish and Bay is proud to have contributed to the Tweed Valley Hospital project, a transformative development in regional healthcare.
With an investment of $723.3 million, this project stands as one of the largest regional capital health investments funded entirely by the NSW Government. The new hospital promises to deliver enhanced healthcare services and increased capacity. Positioned as a major referral hospital, the Tweed Valley Hospital will serve as the core of a network of hospitals and health facilities throughout the Tweed-Byron region. It is designed to meet the growing population's healthcare needs beyond 2032.
This development aims to provide the community with more accessible health services closer to home, reducing the need for approximately 5,000 patients to travel outside the region each year for treatment. It enables patients to remain near family, friends, and existing support networks, fostering a supportive environment for recovery and care.
The main construction of the new hospital began in January 2021, and it is anticipated to open to patients in early 2024.
