A Warm Welcome to Monty Majeed, the Newest Member of Our Electrical Team!

For Monty, engineering isn’t just about solving problems—it’s about transforming ideas into impactful realities. Growing up in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, with roots in Iraq, he was shaped by values of community, collaboration, and collective growth. These principles guide his leadership style and his belief that “in helping others, we help ourselves”—a philosophy that defines both his professional and personal approach.

His journey into engineering began with a fascination for aeronautics, but his passion ultimately found its home in electrical engineering. “It’s where innovation meets sustainability,” Monty shares. With over 11 years of experience in building services, his expertise spans healthcare infrastructure to hospitality venues, making him a versatile and trusted leader in the field.

Over the years, Monty has contributed to landmark projects showcasing his technical expertise and leadership:

GRIFFITH BASE HOSPITAL ($250M): Led design for emergency departments, operating theatres, and aged care facilities, ensuring continuous operation during redevelopment.

IFLY INDOOR SKYDIVING FACILITY ($45M): Directed complex electrical designs, including equipment operation, switchboards, and distribution systems.

NEXT PRACTICE IVF CLINIC ($5M): Delivered designs for generators, uninterrupted power supply, and laboratory equipment.

These projects reflect not just technical excellence but also an ability to navigate complex modern infrastructure with creativity and precision.

Drawn by Goldfish & Bay’s innovative vision and dynamic leadership, Monty joined the team to deliver transformative engineering solutions. “I saw not just a workplace, but a platform for driving meaningful change,” he says. Since then, he has embraced the challenge of delivering value-driven designs that push the boundaries of conventional practices.

To stay ahead of the curve, Monty immerses himself in seminars, independent research, and AI-driven solutions. One trend he finds exciting is AI in spatial optimization, which he believes will redefine electrical design by creating adaptive, energy-efficient environments that respond to human needs.

His passion for engineering extends to creative pursuits like minimalist architecture, classical violin music, and urban photography. He envisions designing a skyscraper merging sustainable technologies with biophilic elements, redefining traditional design and connecting people with nature.

At Goldfish & Bay, we’re thrilled to have you, Monty, on our team, bringing expertise, energy, and a fun, approachable spirit. Your leadership fosters growth and collaboration, inspiring colleagues to thrive. With your commitment to excellence and innovation, you’re redefining what’s possible in electrical engineering. We’re proud to have you driving meaningful change, one groundbreaking project at a time!
