Some engineers start in the classroom. GLENN RULLI started in the trenches—literally. With a background in plumbing and nearly 20 years in hydraulic engineering, he knows what it takes to turn a design into something functional, efficient, and built to last. His journey wasn’t planned, but it was the perfect evolution—moving from hands-on problem-solving to shaping smarter, more sustainable hydraulic solutions.

Born into a family of hardworking Italian migrants from Abruzzo, Glenn was raised with a strong work ethic and an appreciation for practical skills. After an injury in 2005 ended his plumbing career, he turned into engineering, staying connected to the industry he knew inside and out. The transition wasn’t just a change in job title—it was a shift in perspective, allowing him to bridge the gap between concept and construction.

Glenn’s relationship with Goldfish & Bay goes back years. Having worked alongside our team on various projects, he saw firsthand the culture of excellence and innovation that drives the company. When the opportunity arose to join the team, it was an easy decision. The people, the expertise, and the shared commitment to quality make every project here rewarding.

With a disciplined and thorough approach, Glenn thrives on the challenges that come with every new project. He stays ahead of industry advancements through newsletters, networking, and industry association meetings, always looking for ways to refine his expertise. One of the biggest innovations in recent years, Revit design, has transformed how hydraulic services integrate with structures and other disciplines, making coordination more integrated than ever. He also sees sustainability shaping the future of the industry, though in his view, hydraulic engineering has long been ahead of the curve—rainwater harvesting, reducing fossil fuel reliance, and water conservation have always been key aspects of good design.
