Spend five minutes with Jeremy and you’ll understand why he’s such a valued part of the Goldfish & Bay team. Always smiling, endlessly helpful, and genuinely curious about how things work, Jeremy brings not just technical capability—but the kind of energy that lifts everyone around him. It’s the sort of attitude that’s hard to teach and impossible to ignore.
Originally from China, Jeremy credits his cultural background with shaping his adaptable, resilient mindset—qualities that serve him well in mechanical engineering, particularly when navigating shifting project requirements or complex site conditions.
His journey began with a love of maths and physics, a natural fit that led him to a mechanical engineering degree and eventually into building services. “I didn’t know much about the field at first,” he admits, “but I was drawn in by the challenge, the scale of the work, and the opportunity to make things function better.”
At Goldfish & Bay, Jeremy thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are alike. “THE TEAM’S ENERGY AND PASSION DREW ME IN STRAIGHT AWAY,” he says. “And the flexibility in how we work really supports good design.”
He’s currently focused on the industry’s shift toward low-GWP refrigerants—a move he sees as critical to making HVAC systems more environmentally responsible. He’s equally excited about the growing role of AI in engineering, especially in areas like smart controls and energy optimisation.
Jeremy’s approach is grounded in quality, efficiency, and adaptability. Whether he’s referencing the National Construction Code or AS1668, or diving into a technical webinar, he’s always learning. “I get a lot out of personal growth,” he explains. “It’s what keeps me motivated—developing new skills and applying them on real projects.”
Outside the office, balance is key. Between basketball, gym sessions, bushwalks, and time with his kitten, Jeremy keeps life active and centred.
If he could design without limits? He’d build a geothermal-powered system—sustainable, efficient, and quietly powerful. Much like the way he works.
Thanks for the energy and insight you bring every day, Jeremy. 🧡
